THE GLAMIS GATHERING 20TH MAY
Start Date: 20/05/2012This is a FREE event to celebrate HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Time: 10.30am - 5.30pm
On the 20th May Glamis Castle will host one of the country’s major events to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. This is a community venture supported by the seven burghs of Angus and every age group is to be involved. Pipe bands on the ramparts of the castle will herald the start of the celebration whilst hundreds of dancers perform on the stage in front of the castle. Throughout the course of the day bands, choirs, dance groups, keep fit groups, orchestras etc will all perform on the central stage and the Angus burgh marquees will put themselves on display.
The Pipe Band and Youth Group parades will at 1.30 pm and 2.30 pm
Massed Pipe Bands will Beat the Retreat from 5.30pm - 6.30pm

Please note: Due to the nature and size of this event, we kindly advise no alcohol only dogs on leads permitted.
The Gardens and Grounds of Glamis are free to visit and special Diamond Jubilee rate for anyone wishing to view the Diamond Jubilee Exhibition or take a guided tour of the castle will apply.
N.B. All parking will be in the Event Fields.
