CELEBRATING 60 YEARS OF CASTLE OPENING
On July 26th, the first 60 people to arrive at Glamis Castle ticket office will be admitted for 12 pence, the equivalent of 2/6d. Visitors arriving throughout the day will receive a special commemorative ticket to mark the 60th anniversary of the castle being open to the public. Lord Strathmore and the Dowager Countess will greet the first visitors of the day, and the original cash register has been brought out of the archives and dusted down.
Historical interpreter Bob Holsman will be in the grounds throughout the day to interact with visitors and interpret stories from the past.
Glamis Castle to receive Silver Award of Excellence from CIE tours as voted for by CIE tour groups in 2011.
Although the castle is closed for essential maintenance until March 31st, group visits are welcome with advance notice....more
