We offer Simulated Game Shooting to parties of 8 to 16 guns. This offers a chance to sample a “Driven Game” day at a much lower cost than the “real thing”. However, no corners are cut and the day will be as exciting as any of our driven days.
You will receive great hospitality in the stunning setting of Glamis Castle. The shooting will take place in the beautiful countryside surrounding the Castle where challenging sporting targets are shown that simulate pheasant, partridge, grouse and other game.
A full day for 8 to 16 guns will start at 9.00am at Glamis Castle where a light breakfast of bacon rolls, tea and coffee will be enjoyed in the 16th Century Chambers. A safety briefing will take place followed by “the draw”. This tells you where you will be placed in the line. There will be three drives in the morning, followed by a 3-course lunch in the 16th Century Chambers, with a further two drives in the afternoon, followed by afternoon tea.
An 8-gun team will see 3,000 targets over five drives. Additional targets will be available at an extra cost. All guns should provide their own felt-wad cartridges though cartridges will be available to purchase if required (12 and 20 bore); we would recommend 21g loads. Tailor-made days, including half days, are available to suit your requirements; please contact us for more information.
If there are novice or inexperienced guns they will require accompaniment by a minder who is a shotgun certificate holder. The Estate can provide minders at an extra cost, but please let us know in advance. Additionally, please ensure you have the correct insurance prior to arrival; this is available from the British Association of Shooting and Conservation (BASC): www.basc.org.uk , Countryside Aliance : www.countryside-alliance.org and Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA): www.cpsa.co.uk
Full days are available for £250 per person with half-days (mornings or afternoons) available for £125 per person; please contact us for more information.
