Due to severe weather conditions, Saturday’s Glamis Castle Christmas Market has been postponed. We apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment; the safety of all guests and staff is our first priority and the weather conditions are continuing to state that it is too windy. We very much wish that you can experience the event on Sunday, so we have opened up additional spaces for you to book and enjoy and have a wonderful walk in the gardens. Visitors who have already purchases tickets for Saturday will receive a direct email with the option to move your tickets to Sunday’s market or gain a full refund.

As shoppers begin preparing for Christmas, Glamis Castle are hosting the perfect event for visitors to pick up some unique festive gifts. The historic visitor attraction’s annual Christmas Market is returning later this month with a sparkling array of gift stalls for visitors to explore.

Taking place in the courtyard at the castle on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November from 10.00am-4.00pm, the yule-themed event is set to host a variety of stall-holders ranging from luxury candle-makers and wooden toy gift sellers to award-winning cheese and locally made fruity wine.

The Christmas Market will round off a successful and diverse year of seasonal festivals at Glamis Castle, which has seen these events grow from hosting 21 traders at the Spring Festival to over 50 traders at this up-coming event. Previous festivals, which always feature predominantly local traders, have proved immensely popular with visitors and organisers are keen to round off the year with another successful event.

Helen Buchanan, General Manager at Glamis Castle, said:

“It has been so heartening to be able to support so many local businesses to showcase their products at our various festivals through the year. We are looking forward to welcoming more stall-holders to our Christmas Market which is set to be an ideal opportunity for people to pick up some special gifts for the festive season while enjoying a visit to Glamis Castle.”

Amongst the businesses joining the Christmas Market are Arbroath-based distillers of Redcastle gin, Tollhouse Spirits, who are returning after selling out last year.

Fiona Walsh from Tollhouse Spirits said: “We’ve always enjoyed the festive vibe at Glamis Castle. It is a magical setting and one of the highlights of our events calendar. We’ll be there with our full range of award-winning spirits and liqueurs, made here in Angus, including our star filled bottles filled with rum, gin or liqueurs which sold out last year!”

Dog equipment specialists The Happy Go Lucky Dog Company are looking forward to meeting new people at the market. Victoria Johnson, Director at The Happy Go Lucky Dog Company, said: “We are looking forward to getting out and doing what we do best meeting new people and their gorgeous dogs. It’s amazing how dog friendly Glamis is.”

Hayley Wilkes from Carnoustie-based WeeCOOK is excited about bringing their delectable pies to the upcoming Christmas Market.

“We are offering the perfect Christmas gift,” said Hayley. “The gift of pies! Our award-winning, proper tasty pies are perfect for taking along to festive parties or gifting to the one you love. We will have all our favourites on sale and gift vouchers will be available for the WeeCOOK Kitchen.”
