Here at Glamis Castle we have joined forces with a range of local businesses to bring our brand-new fairy tale light show, A Trail of Tales at Glamis Castle, to life.
Angus-based outdoor event specialists Strathmore Event Services have partnered with the team at Glamis Castle to organise the inaugural light show which is inviting visitors to ‘step into a fairy tale’ in the castle’s historic gardens.
Running from October 29th – November 7th from 4pm-8.15pm each night, the shimmering light trail will invite people, young and old, to explore while discovering classic childhood stories along the way.
Also, brought on board to realise the vision for the show are Dundee-based lighting specialists AML Event Hire and prop designer Helen Stephenson from Art of Display in Leith who will style a section of the trail.
An interactive app, developed by events company Team Challenge Company, will be available to download via QR code when visitors arrive featuring a map and facts about the trail. With local connections, Team Challenge Company has offices in Aberdeen and Edinburgh and have previously partnered with Glamis Castle to bring other events to fruition this year.
Creating, producing and executing a brand new outdoor light show, all within a few months is no mean feat. For Strathmore Event Services, the driving force behind A Trail of Tales, they have taken the event from the concept stage, with an early vision of introducing children’s book characters into the gardens at Glamis, to an interactive and captivating light show.
Each stage of the process has involved a group of key people and suppliers, each integral to the success of the project. The team at Strathmore Event Services are delighted to have been able to work with so many great Scottish companies. Kirsty Shanks, Events Sales Manager at Strathmore Event Services, said:
“It’s been really important to us to collaborate with and support local companies. Each has brought their own expertise to the table, all to create what is set to be a fantastic show. We are really excited for people to see A Trails of Tales at Glamis Castle. The combination of light effects and story telling is going to be pure magic for children and grown-ups. For us, the best bit is seeing everything come together and people experiencing the event. I can’t wait for that.”
Bringing light to the dark gardens, the team at AML Event Hire are supplying everything electrical to the event, including over 200 lighting fixtures, audio equipment and, of course, a lot of fairy lights. Alistair McCready, Director at AML Event Hire, said:
“It’s great for our team at AML Event Hire to be involved in a local event like A Trail of Tales at Glamis Castle. Events like this really are a sum of all the parts and it’s always good to see lots of different people and businesses come together to create something special.”
